U.S. citizens from Southern California testified Tuesday before members of the Senate and the House of Representatives about being illegally arrested by federal immigration agents during immigration raids and operations.
The testimonies of those who suffered the detentions Agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) appeared before lawmakers in Washington, D.C.
“I identified myself as a U.S. citizen and a veteran, but that didn’t matter,” said Army veteran George Retes, who lives in Southern California.
