“Valdo”, a member of the Gulf Cartel and former member of the CJNG wanted by the US, is captured in Colima.
“Valdo” was considered a priority target due to his alleged participation in the trafficking of large quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine to the United States.
Federal and state authorities arrested Valdemar “N”, alias “Valdo”, in Colima, identified as an alleged member and operator of the Gulf Cartel, who has an extradition order issued by the United States government for crimes related to international drug trafficking.
The capture was carried out through an operation coordinated by elements of the Ministry of the Navy (Semar), in collaboration with security authorities from the three levels of government and international bodies.
According to official information, “Valdo” was considered a priority target due to his alleged participation in the trafficking of large quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine into United States territory.
Investigations indicate that Valdemar would have previously occupied a relevant position within the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG); However, after internal conflicts he left that criminal organization and joined the ranks of the Gulf Cartel.
In addition to the accusations of drug trafficking, the authorities identify him as a generator of violence and presumed responsible for various homicides committed both in Mexico and the United States.
After his capture, “Valdo” was placed at the disposal of the Attorney General's Office (FGR), a body that will determine his legal situation and follow up on the process related to the extradition request presented by the United States.
The arrest occurs in the midst of cooperation between Mexico and the United States in matters of security and combating drug trafficking, particularly in actions directed against operators linked to the trafficking of synthetic drugs and cocaine into United States territory.
