Superman
The Man of Steel returns from the director of “Guardians of the Galaxy”. James Gunn revives Superman with a new, fresh, fun and more “human” vision than on previous occasions. A little-known actor, David Corenswet, plays the journalist Clark Kent—now Superman, of course—who goes through an identity crisis when some politicians manipulated by the villain Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) doubt his intentions to help the world. By his side at the newspaper is his secret girlfriend, Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), a star reporter for the Daily Planet with her own professional aspirations. But watch out, because Superman isn't the only one with superpowers in the film. The cast is completed by Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner (a Green Lantern with an oversized ego), Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho. Visually spectacular, this "Superman" that has just arrived in theaters marks the beginning of the new DC Universe.
Suspicious Minds
Now available on Hulu and Disney+ is this six-episode Spanish series that follows Amber, a brilliant thief who, after a failed robbery in Las Vegas, prepares her next hit on Hope Island, a paradise in the middle of the Pacific. Her target is the Saint Agatha Tiara, a $240 million jewel that the daughter of a Mexican tycoon will wear during her wedding. To prepare for the robbery, Amber has infiltrated the Villegas family for three years as a governess. But her plan is jeopardized when another thief appears on the island.
Rage (Furia)
Marga (Carmen Marchi) is an artist cheated on by her husband (Alberto San Juan). Vera (Pilar Castro), Marga's friend, is a high-profile chef brought down by a ruthless critic. Nat (Candela Pena) works in a boutique who is planning to replace her with someone younger. Adela (Nathalie Poza) is about to be evicted from her home. Victoria (Cecilia Roth) is a forgotten actress who receives a fake offer. These five women reach their limit and take revenge with fury. 8 episodes of 30 minutes on Max.
Daniela Forever
Nicolas (Henry Golding) is mourning the loss of his girlfriend Daniela. But he sees a ray of hope when he is offered the chance to participate in an innovative dream therapy that simulates reality. As sleep and memory blur, she must confront the true meaning of healing. From Spanish filmmaker Nacho Vigalondo, “Daniela Forever” is a sci-fi journey through love, loss, and hope. Now in theaters, it will be available digitally on July 22.
