Shakira dedicated a message to the victims of floods in Texas: I can only think of the families.
The Colombian singer, who will donate the proceeds from her concert in San Antonio, encouraged the public to make direct donations to support the affected families.
Shakira dedicated her concert at the Alamodome in San Antonio to the victims of the recent floods in Texas. The singer, who will donate part of the proceeds to those affected, dedicated a heartfelt message to those who lost their families.
In an emotional moment of the concert, Shakira paused to express her grief and send a message of encouragement to the community.
Tonight, my heart is mourning for this terrible tragedy that has occurred here in Texas. All I can think about are the families affected and their pain, said the Colombian singer.
In addition, Shakira dedicated the performance to those who lost their lives and their loved ones and invited those in the audience to cherish the moments with their loved ones.
Prior to the show, the Barranquilla native announced that she will donate part of the proceeds from her concert at the Alamodome in San Antonio to Catholic Charities in the locality, an organization that provides humanitarian aid to those affected.
Shakira also encouraged the audience to make direct donations to support the affected families.
The singer's gesture took place in the framework of the rescheduling of the concert, originally scheduled for June 13 but postponed due to technical failures.
Shakira will return to Latin America with her tour
Last week, the singer announced that she will return to Latin America as part of her Las Mujeres No Ya Lloran tour.
Through her Instagram account, the Barranquilla native, who is about to finish the North American leg of her tour, shared the good news.
"I'm here, Latin America. Before Europe and Asia, it's a joy to return home. I'm coming back to reunite with you, with the hugs that were left pending and the songs that are left to sing together," Shakira announced.
The Colombian singer will return to Colombia, Peru, Chile and Argentina, and has added new destinations such as Paraguay and Uruguay. The singer's new shows are scheduled for the last quarter of 2025 after her performances in Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
In August, the Barranquilla native will finish the North American leg of her tour to return to Mexico, where she will perform more than 15 shows.
