Yailin La Mas Viral unleashes controversy by refusing to perform at festival in the Netherlands
The Dominican singer had planned to perform at the Latino Gang Festival, despite the insistence of the event organizers that she participate
Yailin La Mas Viral is in the middle of a new controversy. This weekend, the Dominican singer was scheduled to perform at the Latino Gang Festival in the Netherlands, but decided not to participate.
The festival issued a statement on its Instagram account about Yailin's decision not to appear at the event.
"We regret to inform you that, for the second time, Yailin has failed to participate. First, it was at the LATINO GANG Festival, and now also at the After Party scheduled for the same night. The organization tried to maintain her presence until the last minute, but once again we have encountered unjustified excuses, a lack of commitment to the public, and her own team, which has left both venues in the lurch," the festival stated.
Following the festival's statement, Yailin shared her version of what happened. “I came with all the excitement of sharing with my people, but I honestly don't understand: if they hired me to be here, why would they put me anywhere, far from where I really should be? They preferred to prioritize a space filled with someone else's music rather than give me the spot I deserved, when in reality, if it's this full, it's because of me. Even so, I came because I respect my audience and I always want to be with you. Thank you for waiting for me with so much love,” the singer said. Yailin also announced that she was canceling the rest of her performances in Europe because she has not received payment for the agreed-upon shows. “I want to publicly inform you that all the shows I was scheduled to perform are canceled. I have done my part, but so far I have not been paid what I deserve. I don't sing for free. My work and my talent deserve respect. If there is no payment, there is no performance,” she added. Despite the Dominican singer's statements, the company Promoter Bombon Production denied her comments and assured that Yailin did not show up at the event because she was late to celebrate her birthday.
Yailin hasn't had much luck during her time in Europe. Recently, the singer experienced an awkward moment during her performance at a music festival in Italy.
When she took the stage to perform her hit “Bing Bong,” the Dominican singer was met with a cold and unreceptive audience that didn't sing along or show enthusiasm, creating an awkward moment.
Despite her attempts to cheer up the audience, the response was minimal, prompting criticism on social media platforms like TikTok and X, where users called her show “boring” and noted that she seemed disinterested.
Yailin's fans immediately came to her defense, claiming that the event's production was substandard, citing technical issues such as audio glitches that affected her performance on stage.
