Sean “Diddy” Combs release date moved forward again
The rapper, currently held in a federal prison in New Jersey, advances his release date after progress in his rehabilitation program
Sean “Diddy” Combs' release date has been changed again. According to official records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), obtained by Us Weekly magazine, the rapper and music producer is scheduled to be released from prison on February 23, 2028.
This new update represents a further cut to the time the Bad Boy Records founder, 56, will spend behind bars. Just two months ago, federal authorities had already brought forward his departure to April 15, 2028.
His sentencing history has fluctuated constantly since his entry into prison: he was initially due to be released in May 2028, but following alleged disciplinary infractions last November, his date was temporarily pushed back to June of that same year.
According to Page Six, close sources suggest that this new legal benefit is due to his active participation in the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Program (RDAP), a rigorous rehabilitation course that allows inmates to significantly reduce their sentences.
In this regard, a representative for Combs stated that: "Mr. Combs has taken his rehabilitation process very seriously from the beginning. He is completely focused on his personal growth and committed to positive change."
Combs is serving a 50-month prison sentence (with 14 months counted as time already served) at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, after being convicted last year of two counts of transportation for prostitution.
