The Mexican singer starred in an emotional ceremony in which his wax replica was presented, now on display in Mexico City
Singer Carlos Rivera has joined the list of artists who are immortalized through their own wax figure. In an emotional ceremony, the multi-award-winning artist unveiled the acclaimed replica at the Mexico City Wax Museum. He attended the event accompanied by his wife, Cynthia Rodriguez, who posed smiling in the photos the celebrity shared on his social media. “I’m at the wax museum!!!!” Carlos Rivera excitedly exclaimed on his Instagram stories. Furthermore, he hinted that the public visiting the Wax Museum to see his replica will be in for a surprise: “I left my perfume on it so it smells the same. Now they'll know my exact measurements, my height, everything,” he joked. According to the museum, this inclusion of the performer in its wax figure collection is a recognition reserved for artists whose career has left a mark on popular culture, an achievement with which the native of Huamantla, Tlaxcala, is familiar. The creation of the replica required several months, during which the museum's artistic team worked on very important details for the characterization of the famous artist; These included: wardrobe, posture, and facial features.
To achieve the striking result, exact measurements taken of the singer were used, as well as numerous photographic references from his beginnings to the present day.
“It’s a strange feeling, difficult to explain what it means for me to be in the Wax Museum today. The first time I came I was 12 years old and I saw all the characters that were here and I never imagined that one day I would be here,” he expressed in a post on his Instagram account.
“Thanks to the entire museum team for this amazing experience, and to all my Riveristas for always supporting me. You can come and say hello as often as you like,” he concluded.
