In a deeply personal and revealing turn, actor Charlie Sheen opens the door for the first time to an intimate chapter of his life: his sexual experiences with men. The confession comes via his upcoming Netflix documentary, “aka Charlie Sheen,” and his memoir, “The Book of Sheen,” which are released back-to-back this September.

As reported by People, Sheen describes his decision to “flip the menu” after years of primarily having relationships with women.

The 60-year-old actor, known for his roles in 'Platoon' and 'Two and a Half Men,' calls the act of sharing these experiences “fucking liberating,” using a vivid analogy to express his relief: “It’s like a train didn’t go by the side of the restaurant. Like a piano didn’t fall from the sky.”

A Dark Period in His Life

Sheen directly links the beginning of these encounters to a dark period in his life marked by crack cocaine addiction.

“That’s what started it,” he says. “That’s where it was born, or unleashed.” The actor recounts a process of introspection and subsequent acceptance, initially asking himself, “Where did that come from?… Why did that happen?” and finally concluding with a pragmatic “So what?” He claims to have no regrets: “Some things were weird. Many were hilarious, and life goes on.” These revelations are intertwined with the story of another of his great battles: his HIV diagnosis. Sheen details how he was blackmailed by his ex-girlfriends, leading him to shell out millions of dollars to keep his condition private before being forced to go public during a 2015 interview on the “Today” show, four years after he was diagnosed. The documentary’s premiere, scheduled for September 10 (one day after the release of his memoir), already created a significant moment: Sheen attended the red carpet accompanied by his ex-wife, Denise Richards, marking their first public appearance together since February 2005,symbolizing a closure and a new stage in the actor's life.
