Karol G surprises at the NFL halftime show in Brazil with energy Tropicoqueta
Setting the stage with her iconic yellow color, Karol G brought the energy of Tropicoqueta to Brazil with a performance of her latest hits
Colombian superstar Karol G brought her iconic style and energy to the halftime stage during the NFL season opening game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The event, broadcast live on September 5 from the Corinthians Arena via the NFL's YouTube channel, was a vibrant display of music and culture.
Karol burst onto the stage with an enthusiastic greeting: "Hello, Brazil! Up my Latin people!" before diving into a medley of her greatest hits, most of them from her new album, "Tropicoqueta."
She opened her act with verses in Portuguese, immediately connecting with the local audience, and then performed songs like “Latina Foreva,” “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” “Un Gatito Me Llamo,” and “Papasito,” the latter blending English and Spanish.
Yellow dominated the stage.
With impeccable production, the artist, dressed in an outfit reminiscent of her album 'Tropicoqueta'—a copper-colored miniskirt and a bra with pineapple-shaped details—and with her dark blonde hair flowing, was surrounded by dozens of dancers.
The choreography incorporated lambada movements, paying homage to Brazilian culture. The show, although less than 10 minutes long, was intense and included a group of female percussionists and a fireworks culmination.
Hours before the event, Karol shared her excitement and reflection on Instagram. “Today is a very special day! After a long time, I'm returning to one of my favorite places in the world, where, no matter what, I feel completely happy: The stage!” she wrote.
The singer expressed the deep personal meaning of this performance and thanked her team for their hard work, concluding, “It's something that has touched me with all my heart and soul.”
The announcement of her participation was made in August, with a promotional image of the artist in a 'Tropicoqueta' style holding a football helmet.
This historic event marked the first NFL game broadcast exclusively live on YouTube, a result of the ongoing collaboration between the league and the platform.
