Kate del Castillo reveals that her divorce from Luis Garcia pushed her to leave Mexico
Kate del Castillo shared that the shame and pain of her divorce from Luis Garcia led her to flee Mexico
Actress Kate del Castillo, who has been living in the United States for years, shared in a recent interview the reasons why she decided to leave Mexico.
In a conversation she had with speaker Nayo Escobar, the star of 'La Reina del Sur' shared that her divorce from Luis Garcia was the main reason why she decided to leave the country that she was born more than 20 years ago.
The actress, who was married to the famous former soccer player from 2001 to 2004, shared in her talk details of how bad she felt after their separation, which is why she preferred to leave the country before continuing to be the talk of the town.
"I left for many reasons. The first: I was getting divorced from my first husband, I've been here for two, and I left because the press was on top of me and it was very embarrassing and painful what I was going through at the time. He was a very famous soccer player, so we were like the power couple," the daughter of Don Eric del Castillo began by saying about one of the reasons that led her to leave her beloved Mexico.
She then detailed that her divorce, as well as the circumstances that accompanied it, pushed her to pack her bags and go to the United States, where she found refuge from the harassment she was being subjected to by the press.
"That pushed me and I started too to film a series in the United States for PBS, which was called 'American Family'. So I said: 'Perfect, right now I'll go there and get away from all this,'” she continued.
Kate explained that her divorce was only the perfect excuse to run away, because she recognizes that she was no longer fulfilled by continuing to make soap operas, so she did not think twice when she was presented with the opportunity to migrate.
“I had wanted to go to Los Angeles for a long time. I already had the little thing that I wanted to do other things. What I wanted was to continue working and I did not want to continue making soap operas, I had already done enough and in Mexico they did not call me to make films. I was already bored and I wanted to get from here to wherever I was going, but it happens that it is far away from me,” Kate concluded, who clarified that he never thought about migrating in order to succeed in Hollywood, but rather he did it simply to do something different.
