Ninel Conde obtains order of restriction against Javier Ceriani
After the verdict, Ninel Conde expressed that she has been building her career for years and that she will not tolerate disrespect.
In a forceful turn, a Mexican judge granted a restraining order against journalist Javier Ceriani, in favor of singer and actress Ninel Conde, after a series of personal attacks that the artist considered threatening and systematic.
The measure, issued this week, marks a milestone in the protection of public figures against media harassment and attacks on social media.
The court ruling was based on evidence presented by Conde's legal team, which included messages posted by Ceriani on his show 'Chisme No Like', as well as defamatory comments on social media, where the host openly questioned the artist's intimate decisions - from her family life to her behavior during her participation in La Casa de los Famosos -, with a tone that her lawyers described as "hostile, repetitive and intended to damage her reputation and emotional well-being."
Ninel Conde, who until now had maintained a position of dignified silence, finally decided to take legal action. In a public statement, the “El Bombon Asesino” singer said:
“I have worked for many years to build my career, and I will not allow myself to be disrespected. My family and my art are the most important things, and I will not tolerate anyone using journalism as a pretext to hurt me.”
What does the restraining order say?
The restraining order prohibits Javier Ceriani from physically approaching Ninel Conde, as well as from publishing or disseminating content that mentions her directly or indirectly on programs, social media, or interviews, under penalty of immediate legal sanctions.
In addition, he is required to remove any publication that has generated harassment or incited hatred towards her.
The decision is being celebrated by human rights organizations and privacy groups in the media sector. "This case sets an important precedent: being famous doesn't mean giving up your dignity or personal safety. Journalism should inform, not harass," said a spokesperson for the Network of Journalists for Ethics.
Sources close to the artist confirmed that Ninel is focused on her upcoming national tour and the release of new music, refusing to let the controversy derail her career. "She's calm, but firm. What she wants is for her work to speak for itself," said a close associate.
The controversy sparked a lively debate about the limits of entertainment journalism in Mexico. While some defend freedom of expression, others demand stricter ethical standards to protect artists from smear campaigns disguised as "gossip."
