Shakira wants her fans to dance with her at the World Cup: “I'm going to need more dancers”
The star invited his followers to share videos dancing to “Dai Dai” to select them and add them to the halftime show
Less than a week after the release of “Dai Dai”, the official song of the 2026 World Cup, Shakira surprised by announcing that she opened an international call for her followers, inviting them to be part of her dance corps for the long-awaited halftime show of the World Cup grand final.
Through her social networks, the Colombian performer detailed that she will be closely observing the choreographies that her fans publish on Instagram using the music of her new song, “Dai Dai.”
“I have been seeing incredible creations for ‘Dai Dai’ and I am going to need dancers for the show (…) that is why I have decided to invite as many of you as I can to dance with me,” said the artist, motivating her audience to continue uploading their proposals.
The inspiration for this initiative arose after the great reception of a video by a group of Ugandan children, from the Wakiso Dance Kids Foundation, whose choreography captivated Shakira to such a degree that she formally invited them to accompany her on stage at the grand finale.
This event will mark a historic milestone, as it will be the first time that a FIFA World Cup has implemented a halftime show.
Shakira will share the spotlight with Madonna and the K-pop band BTS, guaranteeing an unprecedented musical fusion that has raised fans' expectations to the maximum. The historic event will be next July 19 at MetLife Stadium.
