Shia LaBeouf has no interest in going to rehab after his arrest
The actor, arrested during Mardi Gras celebrations on assault charges, says his problems are not due to alcohol, but to anger issues
Just days after being involved in an altercation that ended in his arrest in New Orleans, Shia LaBeouf decided to speak about what happened.
In a recent interview with the YouTube channel Channel 5, hosted by Andrew Callaghan, the Transformers star made it clear that he has no intention of entering a treatment center again. addictions, despite recommendations following his erratic behavior during the New Orleans carnival.
“Does that mean I have to go back to rehab? I'm not interested. I don't think my answers are there,” the 39-year-old actor stated.
LaBeouf, who has undergone detoxification processes in the past, was emphatic in pointing out that, in his opinion, alcohol is not the root of his problems.
“I don't think I have a drinking problem. I think I have a different problem… a small man complex. It has more to do with anger and ego,” he said.
The incident occurred on February 17, when LaBeouf was arrested on two counts of simple assault after allegedly confronting attendees at the Mardi Gras parade. Witnesses described the actor as “erratic,” and videos circulated showing him agitated and shirtless in public. Despite admitting his behavior was “foolish” and taking full responsibility for his actions, his stance clashes with the judicial system's view. Recently, a judge in New Orleans ordered the actor to undergo mandatory rehabilitation and testing substance, stating that the court does not believe he understands the seriousness of his actions.
