Tear gas attack sparks tension at Ricky Martin concert in Montenegro
Despite the unfortunate event, the Puerto Rican singer decided to continue with the show and start the European leg of his "Ricky Martin Live" tour.
Moments of tension were experienced during the start of the European leg of Ricky Martin's tour after a person threw tear gas on stage while the Puerto Rican was giving a concert in Montenegro.
According to an official statement issued by the artist's team, the incident occurred during the first minutes of the show offered in Independence Square in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro.
“Ricky Martin and his entire team immediately left the stage while security personnel and local authorities worked to control the situation and guarantee the safety of those present,” explained Róndine Alcalá, the celebrity's head of public relations and publicist.
Despite the initial shock, the singer's team managed to contain the situation and guarantee the safety of those present, which is why the famous person decided to continue with the presentation.
"Although members of the artist's work team recommended not continuing with the show, once the authorities confirmed that the situation was under control and that the public could return safely, Ricky Martin decided to resume the concert to fulfill his commitment to his fans," the letter reads.
The message concluded by confirming that the “Livin’ la vida loca” and “Vente Pa’ca” singer will continue his Ricky Martin Live tour with upcoming performances scheduled in Europe and additional international dates, as planned.
So far, Montenegrin authorities have not reported the arrest of any suspects, nor reported any serious injuries related to the recent incident.
Meanwhile, Ricky Martin is preparing his bags for the following stops on his world tour during the months of June and July 2026: Croatia, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
