Thalia denied rumors of her return to soap operas
After 27 years away from soap operas, the Mexican star clarified that she will not return to the small screen due to the physical and emotional exhaustion she experienced
Fans who were hoping to see Thalia starring in a new television drama received bad news. In a recent interview that shook the entertainment world, the Mexican singer and actress put an end to rumors about her return to the genre that established her as the “Queen of Telenovelas.” Despite her name constantly being mentioned as a potential lead for new Televisa productions, Thalia confessed that the work pace behind hits like “Maria la del Barrio” and “Marimar” left deep scars. “What broke my mind, emotionally speaking, was the way those telenovelas were filmed,” the artist revealed in an interview with ¡Hola! magazine, referring to the grueling, time-sensitive filming schedules. The singer of “Amor a la Mexicana” recalled that, during the height of the “Maria” trilogy, the pressure to maintain high ratings forced the production team to film scenes that were edited and broadcast that same night. “There was no way I could give you “A migraine, a panic attack… there was no way around it. You had to keep going," she explained about the level of demand that ultimately led her to leave the recording sets. 27 years after “Rosalinda” (1999), her last television project, Thalia affirms that her mental health is her priority. Although she appreciates the public's affection and the continued success of her stories on streaming platforms, the actress ruled out subjecting herself again to a routine she described as “incapacitating.” With this statement, the star confirms that her focus will remain on her musical and business career, leaving the telenovela chapter as an unforgettable legacy, but definitively closed.
