After consolidating itself as a global phenomenon, the series “Off Campus” has made an important revelation about the second season: the names of the protagonist couple. According to Prime Video, the characters “Dean” and “Allie” will make up the central romance for the second installment of the story that has garnered 36 million views since its premiere on the platform.
The news was announced through a video broadcast from the production's official social networks. In the audiovisual you can see the protagonists of the first installment, Hannah Wells (Ella Bright) and Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli), posing very smiling while the new pair of lovers on which the story will focus appears in the frame.
"One couple made a deal. The next one keeps score. ❤️🔥 From Garrett and Hannah to Dean and Allie: the Off Campus love story continues in season two," it was revealed.
This is how Mika Abdalla and Stephen Kalyn, actors who gave life to “Dean” and “Allie” in the first season of “Off Campus”, have been confirmed as the new protagonists of the adaptation of the saga written by Elle Kennedy.
Abdalla, who starred in the Hulu comedy “Sex Appeal,” recently starred in the independent film “Snack Shack” (2024) alongside Gabe LaBelle and had a guest appearance on “The Pitt.” For his part, Kalyn is a Canadian actor who achieved international fame for his role in “Gen V”; His portfolio also includes productions such as “Cruel Intentions”, “Motorheads” and “Essex County”.
Regarding this change of focus, the creator of the series, Louisa Levy, said: “We are very excited to continue the story of Allie and Dean as our main romance of the second season, after having begun their story in the first.”
However, he announced that this creative decision does not mean that “Garrett” and “Hannah”, played by actors Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli, will continue to be part of the story, although to a lesser extent.
"If you fell in love with Hannah and Garrett, don't worry: they will continue to be a fundamental part of our strong cast. We can't wait to tell the next chapter of everyone's story. Fans have a lot to look forward to!", detailed the developer.
This announcement comes in the face of the great success obtained with its first installment within the Prime Video platform. According to the entertainment giant, “Off Campus” reached 36 million viewers worldwide during its first 12 days, including two full weekends.
This positions it as Prime Video's third most-watched debut season, only surpassed by the first season of “The Lord of the Rings” and “Fallout.” And for women ages 18 to 34 who consume content on the platform, the first season is the most-watched series debut season of all time.
