The album, released on Friday, October 3, sold an impressive 4 million units in its first week, cementing her fifteenth number one album on the Billboard 200 chart. With this achievement, Swift surpasses Drake and Jay-Z, becoming the only artist with the most number-one albums in the chart's history.

But that's not all. All 12 songs from the album simultaneously held the top spots on the Billboard Hot 100, making Swift the artist with the second-most number one hits in the chart's history.

Comparing then to now, she expressed: "Here we are all these years later and a hundred times as many people showed up to see me this week. I have 4 million thank yous I want to send to the fans." The Life of a Showgirl also allowed her to make RIAA history, where she became the first and only female artist to surpass 100 million album sales. Taylor announced a docuseries Additionally, Swift announced two major upcoming projects on Good Morning America on Monday, October 13: a six-part docuseries titled The End of an Era, which will document her experience on The Eras Tour and will be available on Disney+ starting December 12; and the streaming of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show, a record of her final performance on the tour, which will also include songs from The Tortured Poets Department.

Swift closed her post by thanking her followers for celebrating every detail of The Life of a Showgirl,from the special vinyl editions to the poems included in the package and the official launch party. "I will treasure this feeling forever. Just wow. Thank you for the beautiful bouquet ?," she wrote, quoting a lyric from her duet with Sabrina Carpenter.
