All Party Meeting: EWS quota, central agencies... Opposition demands government to discuss these issues in Parliament
The central government called an all-party meeting of the leaders of the House for the winter session of Parliament starting on Wednesday, 7 December.

Before the winter session of the Parliament to be held from Wednesday i.e. December 7, the Central Government called an all-party meeting today. Many senior leaders including Defense Minister and BJP MP Rajnath Singh, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi, TMC MP Derek O'Brien were present in this meeting. The government was represented by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha Piyush Goyal. In this meeting, there was discussion regarding the smooth running of both the Houses. Apart from this, the opposition leaders raised several demands before the central government.
Opposition leaders demanded discussion on these issues. During the meeting, Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge demanded appointment of Election Commissioner in just one day, discussion on EWS quota and unemployment. According to sources, TMC leader Derek O'Brien demanded a discussion on price rise, unemployment, alleged misuse of agencies and economic blockade of states. O'Brien also told the government that the opposition should be allowed to raise important issues.

Sources said that this time he decided to call a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) instead of the traditional all-party meeting on the eve of the session. The BAC discusses the legislative agenda of the House as well as issues on which the parties would like to be discussed. Last week, the government listed 16 bills for introduction in the winter session.
Parliament's winter session begins on December 7
Significantly, the winter session of Parliament will start from December 7 and it will end on December 29. There will be 17 sittings in this session. Last week, the government released a list of 16 bills to be introduced during the winter session. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi had sent invitations to leaders of various parties in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha for this meeting.
Election results during the session itself
The results of Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat assembly elections will also be revealed on December 8 during the session itself. In such a situation, the shadow of the election results of these two states will also be seen on the winter session.
