Sikhs living in America have protested
There is a lot of anger in the Sikh community due to the news of attacks by Khalistanis on the Indian Consulate and High Commission located in some other countries including San Francisco. Leaders of the Sikh community living in America have protested against this. Sikh leaders condemned these incidents and said that the Khalistani movement was being exaggerated.
We condemn any violence outside the Indian Embassy in San Francisco or desecration of the Indian flag in London. Everyone has the right to protest but it should be peaceful and there should be no violence or vandalism.
Whatever you are seeing in the media that the Khalistan movement is going on in America and Canada, all that is being exaggerated. There are more than one million Sikhs living in North America and only 50 of them showed up to protest outside the Indian Embassy.
Whatever happened in Punjab is very unfortunate. I also condemn the incidents of violence in the United Kingdom and the Indian Consulate in San Francisco. We are a democratic country, we have every right to protest but it should be peaceful.
