There will be a ban on single-use plastic in Bihar from July 1. According to the notification issued by the Central Government a year ago, the use of plastic items with a thickness of 120 microns will be completely banned in Bihar. No one will be able to use plastic-made carry bags, plates, cups, balloon sticks, spoons etc. Apart from this, no one will be able to manufacture, store, distribute, sell and use these plastic items.
Ban on use of single-use plastic
After the notification issued by the Central Government, one year's time was given to the producers and shopkeepers who used this type of plastic to make goods. These things had to be disposed of. This time period will end on July 1. From this day there will be a ban on the use of such plastic. In this way, in view of the pollution not spreading in the state due to plastic, there will be a complete ban.
There will be a ban on these plastic items
From July 1, the manufacture, import, storage, distribution and use of single-use plastic items including poly styrene (thermocol) and expanded poly styrene items will be banned. In these items, plastic ear buds, plastic sticks for balloons, plastic flags, candy sticks, ice cream sticks, polystyrene decorative material will be banned. Apart from this, cutlery like plastic plates, cups, glasses, forks, spoons, knives, straws, plastic films wrapping sweet boxes, invitation cards, cigarette packs, banners made of plastic less than 100 microns thick will be banned. This will not apply to articles made of compostable plastic.
Most of the waste of single-use plastic
Most of the plastic waste is of single-use plastic. According to experts, it is the most dangerous for health. As far as its use in schools is concerned, it is used in government schools to bring food items other than rice for mid-day meals. At the same time, it is used indiscriminately outside government and private schools.
