Chhattisgarh Witnesses Dip in Maximum Temperature, Rain Forecast Due to Cyclonic Influence
Chhattisgarh experiences a dip in maximum temperatures, offering relief from the heatwave. The Meteorological Department forecasts rain and thunderstorms due to the influence of Cyclone Dronika.
Chhattisgarh experienced a notable drop in maximum temperatures across various regions, bringing relief from the scorching heat. On Thursday, Bilaspur recorded a maximum temperature of 38.4 degrees Celsius, five degrees below normal, while Raipur saw a maximum of 36.7 degrees Celsius, four degrees below normal. The Meteorological Department attributes this change to the influence of Cyclone Dronika, predicting the likelihood of rain accompanied by thunderstorms in several parts of the state on Friday.
Cloud cover and cool winds enveloped several areas of Chhattisgarh on Thursday, accompanied by light rain in some regions. The pleasant weather persisted throughout the day, providing respite from the sweltering heat. Meteorologist Sanjay Bairagi noted that such a significant temperature drop in May, a rarity in the past decade, indicates unusual weather patterns.
While a slight increase in maximum temperatures is expected on Friday and Saturday, Bairagi forecasts the continuation of rain and thunderstorms in select areas. The prevailing weather conditions are attributed to the cyclical cyclonic circulation of upper air over Central Maharashtra, which is likely to persist for the next few days.
Sanjay Bairagi anticipates light rain and thunderstorms on Friday, with no significant changes in maximum temperatures expected. However, he suggests that weather patterns in Chhattisgarh may undergo further alterations starting from the following week, indicating ongoing meteorological variability in the region.
