The MK Stalin government also announced the formation of a special police force to thwart subversive activities and strengthen its intelligence wing.
State government to constitute special team to probe Coimbatore blast
A high-level meeting chaired by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin at the Secretariat discussed the current status of the investigation into the blast and decided to constitute a special force to prevent similar incidents. The Coimbatore police arrested five associates of the deceased Jamsha Mubeen under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and remanded them to judicial custody till November 8.
Mubeen died due to gas cylinder explosion
He died after a gas cylinder exploded in the car in which Mubeen was traveling. Police said NIA officials are likely to visit the blast site and Mubeen's house. On October 23, 75 kg of low intensity explosives were allegedly seized from Jamsha Mubeen's house. The blast took place when Mubeen was passing near a temple in a car in the city and allegedly tried to escape from a police check post.
