At the same time, according to media reports, the accused jawan opened fire on his comrades after a quarrel among themselves.

Earlier, the incident of a jawan firing at his colleagues was also seen in Udhampur of Jammu and Kashmir, where an Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawan shot and injured three of his colleagues in a camp. He later committed suicide by shooting himself. A senior ITBP official said that constable Bhupendra Singh opened fire on his associates, injuring a head constable and two constables.
