The National Capital Territory of Delhi and adjoining areas received intermittent rains since last night as well as incessant rains during the day on Friday, leading to a flood-like situation. In Delhi, many areas including Raj Ghat, Ring Road were flooded. In some places, the water was filled up to one to two feet. The condition of Rajghat has become like the previous days. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain for two more days. It rained heavily last night as well.

Due to moderate to heavy rains in Delhi's Civil Lines, Laxminagar, Lajpatnagar and many other areas, people had to face the problem of jam on the roads. Ghaziabad-Noida's Yamuna and Hindon riverside areas, people heaved some relief as the flood water receded, but their troubles increased again due to rain.

The same situation prevailed from Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh to Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Telangana. 200 to 300 mm of rain has been recorded in many areas of Gujarat and Maharashtra. In a village in Mulugu district of Telangana, 12 people were washed away by flood water, out of which four people saved themselves. Later the bodies of eight people were found. Five to six National Highways and hundreds of roads are still closed in Himachal and Uttarakhand. Heavy rains and water-logging have thrown life out of gear.

The Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts for heavy rains on Saturday in a total of 17 districts, including 10 in the Malwa region of Punjab. At the same time, water is continuously receding in the urban areas of the flood-affected districts of Haryana. But, the Dhanis around Fatehabad are still flood affected.

Tawi, Chenab, Ujj rivers and drains are in spate due to heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir. The Gangotri-Yamunotri National Highway has been closed due to landslides in Uttarakhand. In Himachal too, four National Highways including National Highway Five and 466 other roads are closed due to debris.

According to the Maharashtra State Disaster Situation Report, 101 people have died and 126 have been injured while 13 are missing in rain-related incidents from June 1 to July 28. Heavy rains lashed many districts including Mumbai and Raigarh on Friday as well. Almost all the lakes including Modak in Mumbai have become full. The Mumbai-Pune Expressway was blocked for one-way traffic for five hours due to falling debris.
