G-20 India: India is set to assume the presidency of the G-20 group, a major forum for international economic cooperation, on Thursday. 100 monuments, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites with G-20 logos, will be illuminated for seven days from December 1 to December 7, ranging from the Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar to the Red Fort in Delhi to the Great Living Chola Temple in Thanjavur Are included.

From Humayun's Tomb and Purana Qila in Delhi to Modhera Sun Temple in Gujarat and Konark Sun Temple in Odisha to Sher Shah Suri's Tomb in Bihar, these 100 sites are in the list. During this year's chairmanship, India will host 200 meetings in more than 50 cities and nations in 32 different regions. For next year's summit, India's objectives include supplying affordable technology for sustainable environmental development while highlighting the country's digital transformation.

The G-20 was established in 1999 after the Asian financial crisis as a forum for finance ministers and central bank governors to discuss global economic and financial issues. The Group of Twenty (G-20) consists of 19 countries (Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom and the United States) and the European Union. G-20 members represent approximately 85 percent of global GDP, more than 75 percent of global trade, and nearly two-thirds of the world population.

The grouping focuses on policy coordination among its members to achieve global economic stability, sustainable development; To promote financial regulations that reduce risks and prevent future financial crises and create a new international financial architecture. The press release of the Ministry of External Affairs said that India will host the G-20 Leaders' Summit in New Delhi on 9 and 10 September in 2023 under its chairmanship.
