Telangana Chief Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) is considering foraying into national politics by launching a new party, though the idea is yet to be finalised. There is speculation that the plan may be announced on the occasion of Dussehra festival in October. TRS MLA and Mancherial district unit president Balka Suman said, "We, the presidents of various districts, appeal to KCR that he should enter national politics and start a national party."

There is news coming that KCR has discussed some names like Bharat Rashtriya Samiti (BRS), Ujjwal Bharat Party and Naya Bharat Party to enter national politics and this may be stamped in the coming days.

Forming a new party, including Gujarat, are considering contesting elections in Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. He has also instructed the party workers to prepare for this. He told the party leaders, identify such leaders and field your candidates in the assembly elections as well as in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. With the help of these states, KCR is preparing to enter national politics.

To get national party status, KCR must secure at least 6 percent of the total valid votes in four or more states in the Lok Sabha elections and assembly elections. Once a national party gets its status, it will have a symbol of its own, which can be allotted to its candidates across the country.

If KCR and his party may have to wait till 2026 to get national status. This is because the Election Commission reviews the national status of the parties every 10 years. The last review was done in 2016.

Chandrashekhar Rao met several non-BJP, non-Congress opposition leaders including Nitish Kumar, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray and Hemant Soren and discussed the alleged anti-people policies of the BJP and bringing about a qualitative change in the country. In June this year, Rao had discussed the idea of ​​forming a national party with TRS leaders, though no final decision was taken on the idea, TRS sources said.
