It is being told that the house and office of Bihar Industries Minister Sameer Mahaseth has been raided by the Income Tax Department (IT). A 25-member team of the Income Tax Department is conducting raids since this morning.
Income Tax Department in search of promoter of Sakar Group
News agency ANI has quoted sources as saying that the Income Tax Department is conducting raids in preparation to clamp down on Sakar builders. The promoters of Sakar Group are said to be relatives of Bihar Industries Minister Sameer Mahaseth. At present, raids are going on in Patna and some other places.
Who is Sameer Mahaseth
Sameer Mahaseth is a native of Madhubani district of Bihar. His father Rajkumar Mahaseth was an MLA many times and also became a minister. There is an identity with politics as a business house. Sameer Mahaseth himself, after being an MLA several times, was made a minister this time when the grand alliance government was formed. Sameer Mahaseth has business of restaurant, party hall etc. in Patna also. He has a famous Amrapali restaurant in Son Bhawan, just a short distance from Vidhansabha.
