DSP East Manoj Pandey said that the police got information that Pankaj Jamin has come to Mathia's residence. But, the police was aware of his every move and did not fall for him. It is known that his father is also associated with a political party. Pankaj's younger brother Pappu Sahni is also associated with ATM fraud gang. At present, he is in jail in a case in Brahmapura.

During interrogation and investigation, Pankaj had blown five hundred rupees from the ATM room of the then Mithanpura police station and Motihari Nagar police station's Thanedar Vijay Kumar Rai in front of his eyes. At that time he had a network of 50-60 people. Which has now increased beyond 200.
