Blood stains have been found on a floating tube seized from the house of the accused in the murder of MBBS student Sadichha Sane. Mumbai Police has given this information on Saturday. Sane (22 years), a third year MBBS student, went missing in November 2021. Lifeguard Mittu Singh was arrested along with another person last month. According to the police, Sane died after falling off a cliff at Bandra Bandstand during a quarrel with Mittu Singh, following which Singh took a floating tube and dragged her body into the sea before returning.
During the panchnama, the investigating team seized the floating tube from Mittu Singh's house as well as the clothes worn by him on the night of the incident, the official said. He said that blood stains from the injury Sane sustained on his forehead while falling from the cliff were found on the floating tube and this could be a strong evidence to nab the accused.
As part of the probe, the blood stains would be matched with the relatives of Sane for identification and other details, the official said. A team of Mumbai Police and Navy launched a search operation in the sea near Bandra Bandstand to locate Sane's body, but to no avail. Singh is lodged in Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail, while another person was arrested in connection with the murder on January 15.
