MEHRAULI MURDER: Investigation in Shraddha murder case intensifies, accused Aftab on police remand for 13 days

Everyday new revelations are being made in the high-profile murder case of Delhi. The police remand of Aftab Poonawala, the main accused of Shraddha Walkar, has been extended for 13 days on Saturday. Earlier he was sent on police remand for 4 days. It goes on to say that before the narco test, the accused was admitted to a hospital in Delhi, where he was produced in the court through online medium.
Police arrested on 12 November
Police said that the accused has been sent to judicial custody for 13 days. The accused was arrested on 12 November and sent to police custody for five days, was produced again on 17 November and his custody period was further extended by five days. Last Tuesday, his police custody was extended once more for four days.
Aftab had contacted a psychologist after the murder
The police had revealed that Aftab had called a woman to his flat after Shraddha's murder. Police said that they have also interrogated the woman who had come to Aftab's house after Shraddha's murder. Police said that the accused had come in contact with this psychotic woman through a dating app and called her to his residence. According to police sources, when Aftab had called the psychologist to his place, Shraddha's body parts were kept inside the fridge.
Aftab's polygraph test took 3 hours
Special Commissioner of Police Sagar Preet Hooda said that the police have started the legal process to present the accused in the polygraph test for further action. Aftab's polygraph test was done for about three hours at the Forensic Science Laboratory on Friday. Police said Poonawalla reached FSL, Rohini here at 4 pm for his third session of polygraph test and returned after 6.30 pm.
Police recovered 5 knives from the flat of the accused
Delhi Police has so far seized five knives from Aftab's flat and sent them to FSL to ascertain whether they were used in the crime. The police had earlier said that the saw Poonawalla allegedly used to cut the body of his live-in partner Shraddha was yet to be recovered. Delhi Police is yet to receive the DNA test report in the Shraddha murder case. According to the police, blood samples of the deceased's father and brother have been collected for deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) matching with the body parts recovered so far in the Shraddha murder case.
