The Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court, in an interim order, restrained the police from conducting mock drills in which policemen impersonating terrorists are shown to belong to a particular community. Police conduct such mock drills to assess their preparedness to deal with different types of emergencies including terrorist attacks.

The court was hearing a public interest litigation filed by social worker Syed Usama. It was alleged in the petition that such costumes are worn in mock drills being conducted by the police department. During this, such slogans are raised, which show that the terrorists were from a particular community.
