Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a tour of Mumbai and Karnataka on Thursday and will start projects worth crores during this. The PM will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 38,000 crore related to infrastructure, ease of urban travel and health sector in Maharashtra. At the same time, will start projects worth more than Rs 10,800 crore in Karnataka.

The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the Mumbai Metro Rail Lines 2A and 7 in Maharashtra costing about Rs 12,600 crore. The foundation stone of these lines was laid by PM Modi in 2015. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for seven sewage treatment plants, a road project and the redevelopment of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at a function to be held at the MMRDA grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex.  

At Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and surrounding areas will remain closed during the Prime Minister's visit to Mumbai. The Prime Minister will attend a function to be held at the MMRDA ground here on Thursday. According to the police, activities like drones and paragliding will also not be allowed during this period.

Flying activities, including the use of drones, paragliders and remotely controlled micro-light aircraft, under the jurisdiction of four police stations, namely BKC, Andheri, Meghwadi and Jogeshwari, will be permitted from mid-afternoon on Thursday, the Mumbai Police said in an order issued on Wednesday. Will not be given till night. The order states that terrorists or anti-social elements may carry out attacks using drones, paragliders and remotely operated light aircraft, hence a ban has been imposed on such flying activities.

Will start these projects in Karnataka: PM Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various developmental projects related to irrigation, drinking water, apart from the Prime Minister's National Highway Development Project, at Kodekal in Yadgiri district of Karnataka at around 12 noon. After this, Modi will reach Malkhed in Kalburgi district at around 2.15 pm. This will be the second visit of the Prime Minister to Karnataka recently.

The order states that there is a "full apprehension" of breach of peace and attempt to disturb public order and it may pose a serious threat to human life, health, safety and public property. Therefore, this step has been taken to avoid apprehensions of breach of public peace. A Mumbai Police official said security has been beefed up as a large number of VIPs are expected to attend the Prime Minister's event at BKC. Traffic will be closed on some roads

Some roads have been closed to traffic. Traffic routes will be changed on some roads ahead of the Prime Minister's visit. Meanwhile, top BJP leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Special Commissioner of Police Deven Bharti, Joint Commissioner (Law and Order) Satyanarayan Choudhary and other top police officials visited the MMRDA grounds on Wednesday afternoon to take stock of the preparations.
