Satyendra Jain took 16 dates from lower court: ED
On September 25, the apex court had extended Jain's interim bail till October 9 and had asked him not to use the pending proceedings in the Supreme Court as a means of delaying the hearing of the case. The Enforcement Directorate has claimed that the AAP leader He was repeatedly demanding a stay in the lower court as his bail plea was pending in the apex court. The investigating agency has alleged that Jain has taken 16 dates from the lower court.
Satyendra Jain's interim bail extended till 25th September
The Supreme Court, while granting six weeks interim bail to Jain for spinal surgery on May 26, had said that a citizen has the right to get treatment of his choice in a private hospital at his own expense. On September 12, the court had extended Jain's interim bail in the case till September 25.
AAP leaders were arrested on May 30
The ED had arrested the AAP leader on May 30 last year on charges of money laundering through four companies allegedly linked to him. ED had arrested Jain on the basis of the CBI FIR registered against him in 2017 under the Anti-Corruption Act. The trial court had granted him regular bail on September 6, 2019, in the case registered by the CBI.
Hearing on Amanatullah Khan's petition tomorrow in the top court
The Supreme Court will also hear tomorrow the petition of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan, in which he has challenged the Delhi Police's decision to declare him of bad character.
A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Dipankar Dutta will hear Amanatullah Khan's plea challenging the Delhi High Court order dismissing his plea against the police decision. The apex court had sought response from Delhi Police on July 3 on Khan's petition.
