The performance of the Congress in the Gujarat assembly elections has been the worst this time. Due to this a new challenge has come before the Congress. Now the anti-BJP parties have also started besieging the Congress. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) took a dig at the Congress after the results of the assembly elections were declared on Thursday and questioned its capabilities in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. 

TMC says that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is the only face against BJP in the country. Party spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said that after the defeat in the Gujarat elections, the Congress needed to criticize itself. In Gujarat, it (Congress) was not seen in the fight itself. While the Congress had a chance to prove itself by winning in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state. But he failed to do so. Congress could not even save respect in the elections.

The TMC spokesperson said that the Congress is not capable of taking on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He said that the party which lost in the battle of Gujarat, how can that party contest the Lok Sabha elections. Only TMC can become an alternative to BJP in the country and the election results have once again proved its relevance.

At the same time, TMC MP Sukhendu Shekhar Roy said that Congress should have made a strong strategy for the Gujarat assembly elections, but they did not do so and remained busy in Bharat Jodo Yatra. On the other hand, TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha congratulated the BJP for the landslide victory in Gujarat. Let us tell you, in the Gujarat assembly elections, BJP has won 156 out of total 182 seats, while Congress has been reduced to 17 seats. This is the worst performance of the party in the history of the state.
