Most parts of North and West India are reeling under floods, rains and cloudbursts. Life has been thrown out of gear due to heavy rains in various states from Kashmir to Gujarat to Maharashtra. On the other hand, the situation is expected to worsen with the warning of heavy rain for four days in central India.
The fear of flood has started deepening again in Delhi-NCR. Yamuna river is flowing above the danger mark. Due to the boom in Hindon, water has entered the houses around it in Ghaziabad and Noida.
Even before the water released from Hathinikund barrage reaches Delhi, the Yamuna river has started flowing above the danger mark for the fourth time. By 9 pm on Sunday, its water level was recorded at 206.48 meters, one meter above the danger mark, which was 205.81 in the morning.
In view of the danger of flood, the administration has asked to vacate the low-lying areas. The danger of flood in Noida-Ghaziabad has started deepening due to the spate of Hindon, a tributary of Yamuna. The areas along the river have been submerged in water. Up to six feet of water has been filled in City Forest and up to two feet in Morta and Karheda Colony. People trapped in the flood are being taken to safer places.
The situation has become such that even a boat had to be called to evacuate people. Municipal Corporation has installed 10 pumps for drainage of water. The Gautam Budh Nagar district administration has issued a flood alert in low-lying areas. Not only this, around 200 people were rescued from five villages near Hindon on Saturday.
Water released from Hussainiwala towards Pakistan
The water of Ghaggar river has entered houses in Punjab. Many villages and farms are submerged in Patiala. Dhussi embankment has been breached in Hariwal village of Anandpur Sahib. Due to rising water level of Satluj, river water was released from Hussainiwala of Ferozepur towards Pakistan.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Delhi LG Vinay Kumar Saxena and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to inquire about the flood and rain situation. He has assured all possible help.
Heavy rain till 27
According to the Meteorological Department, till July 27, there will be heavy rains in many places in Central India. Heavy rain warning has also been issued in Himachal, Uttarakhand and East Rajasthan.
There may be heavy rains at many places in UP, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh on July 25 to 27 and in western Rajasthan on July 25-26.
Ghats of Yamuna drowned, uneasiness started increasing among people

At the same time, the police are also instructing people to stay away from the banks of the Yamuna. Every moment's information is being handed over to the top officer through online medium. Mukesh, who works in the Monastery Market, said that the goods kept in the shop were damaged due to the floods.
The shop had to be closed for several days. Once again the water has started rising. The water has reached the beautification behind the market. Slowly the water has started moving towards the market. The official posted at Kudeshia Ghat said that after the rise in the water level last time, the ring road was filled with water. This time, to prevent such a situation, earthen bags are being installed near the Kashmiri Gate.
Preparations to stop floods intensified, all departments on high alert
The Delhi government has stepped up preparations to prevent floods in view of the continuous rise in the Yamuna's water level which again crossed the danger mark on Sunday. All departments have been put on high alert. Irrigation and Flood Minister of Delhi Government Saurabh Bhardwaj said that 60 teams of different departments have been deployed in different parts. Teams are keeping an eye on the activities of Yamuna. He said that more than two lakh cusecs of water is being released from Hathini Kund Barrage. Because of this, the water level in Yamuna will increase further on Monday.
All the places from where the water came out of the Yamuna and came on the roads are being thoroughly monitored. Preparations have been made to prevent water from coming on the roads by making walls and other arrangements. Apart from evacuating all the people living in low-lying areas near Yamuna and sending them to relief camps, Munadi is also being done. People are being provided with food and other facilities. The duty of two doctors and some staff has been imposed with them, who are constantly engaged in the supervision of the people. Till the time the water recedes completely, people will have to stay in the camps.
17 drains falling into Yamuna closed
When the water level was above the danger mark, 17 drains of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department falling into the Yamuna have been closed again after 11 days. Due to this, drains and sewers of residential areas can overflow.
There is a rule to close the drains after the water level crosses the danger mark in Yamuna. There are about five thousand small and big drains of PWD and MCD and the Jal Board has laid sewer lines in all the areas. Their water reaches the Yamuna through 17 closed drains of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department. Because of this, when it rains, there will be a flood-like situation in most of the residential areas.
Rain in some areas brought relief from humidity
Sunday's rains in some areas brought some respite to the people from the humid heat. The game of hide and seek between the sun and the clouds continued throughout the day. At the same time, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37.6 degree Celsius on Sunday, which was three notches above the normal temperature. At the same time, the minimum temperature was also recorded at 29.4, more than two degrees. The humidity level in the air was 61 to 85 percent.
According to the Regional Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Najafgarh on Sunday was 37.7 and the minimum temperature was 32.2. The lowest temperature was recorded at 25 degree ridge. Similarly, Palam's minimum temperature was 30 degrees, Pitampura's 32.2 degrees, Pusa's 31.2 degrees, CWG Sports Complex's 31.7 degrees.
