10 killed, several passengers injured in bus-truck collision on Nashik-Shirdi highway; declaration of compensation

A horrific road accident took place in Nashik, Maharashtra on Friday morning. Here a speeding bus collided with a truck, killing 10 people. Police officials said, many people were also injured in the accident. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has condoled the loss of lives in the bus accident on the Nashik-Shirdi highway. An ex-gratia of Rs five lakh each has been announced to the families of the deceased. The CM has ordered the concerned officials to investigate the incident.
According to the information received, the accident happened at around seven in the morning. The bus was going from Ambernath in Thane district towards Shirdi. Meanwhile, a truck collided near Pathare in Sinnar tehsil of Nashik. The dead included seven women, two children and a man, police said. The injured have been admitted to the local hospital in Sinnar. Officials say that the condition of some of the injured remains critical, in which case the death toll may increase.
Police officials said that a private luxury bus was going from Ambernath in Thane district to Shirdi in Ahmednagar district. The accident took place around 6.30 am near Pathare Shivar in Nashik's Sinnar tehsil, about 180 km from Mumbai. The dead include seven women, two children and a man. The injured were taken to Sinnar Rural Hospital and Yashwant Hospital. The condition of some of the injured is said to be serious.
Minister Dada Bhuse met the victims
Dada Bhuse, a minister in the Eknath Shinde government, met people injured in a collision between a private bus and a truck in Nashik district on Friday. District Guardian Minister Bhuse met the injured victims undergoing treatment at various private hospitals in Sinnar and also spoke to their families. Talking to reporters after meeting the victims, Bhuse said, a packaging company based in Ambernath had organized a Shirdi Yatra for its employees. Fifteen buses were arranged for the yatra.
The minister said, the state government will bear all the expenses of the treatment of the injured victims. After the recent accident on the Nashik-Aurangabad highway, officials are working to identify black spots in the city and district, he said.
