Iran denies Trump, denies official ceasefire agreement with Israel
Iran said that if Israel stops its “illegal aggression” now, Tehran “has no intention of continuing our response later.”
Among the voices that refuted the US president's version is the Minister of Foreign Affairs Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said Iran has not accepted the ceasefire announced by Trump, but also indicated that Iran has paused its war.
Speaking to X, Araghchi said that as long as Israel stops its “aggression,” Iran has “no intention” to continue its response.
“So far, there is no “agreement” on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations,” he declared. “However, as long as the Israeli regime ceases its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4:00 a.m. Tehran time, we have no intention of continuing our response afterward.”
Iran will decide later whether to approve participating in the agreement, Araghchi said.
“Together with all Iranians, I thank our brave armed forces who remain ready to defend our beloved country to the last drop of blood, and who responded to any attack by the enemy until the very last minute,” he said.
“Israel and Iran have fully agreed that there will be a total and complete ceasefire (in approximately 6 hours, when Israel and Iran have completed their final ongoing missions), for 12 hours, at which time the war will be deemed OVER,” the president wrote on his Truth Social media platform on Monday afternoon.
According to the president, the ceasefire would be implemented gradually over the next 24 hours.
