B King and Regio Clown, Colombian artists, disappear in Mexico, Gustavo Petro reports; asks Sheinbaum for help
President Petro asks for help from the Mexican president, Claudia Sheinbaum, for the disappearance of Colombian artists B King and Regio Clown
The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, requested this Sunday the intervention of the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, to locate the Colombian singer Bayron Sanchez Salazar, known as B King, and his tour partner, DJ Jorge Herrera, known as Regio Clown, who were reported missing in Mexico since September 16. However, the Sonora Attorney General's Office denied that the events occurred in their state.
“I ask the president of the United Mexican States, Claudia Sheinbaum, my friend and companion in struggle from the M-19, and the entire Colombian diplomatic corps in Mexico, to ensure that the singer Bayron Sanchez and his teammate Jorge Herrera appear alive,” Petro wrote on the social network X.
The president indicated that the disappearance would have occurred after a concert in Sonora, although he did not offer further details. In addition, he attributed the incident, in general terms, to the growth of “multinational mafias” linked to drug trafficking.
“They disappeared after their concert in Sonora, perhaps because of the multinational mafias that are growing on our continent, because of the rampant drug use in the United States, which is also growing because of the lack of love in its decadent society,” the Colombian president stated in his call for help to the government of President Claudia Sheinbaum.
Sonora Prosecutor's Office responds to Petro about B King
However, hours later, the Attorney General's Office of the State of Sonora (FGJES) issued a statement denying that the disappearance of the artists occurred in that state. In its official message, the prosecutor's office stated the following:
What is known about the case of B King and Regio Clown?
B King, 31 years old and known for songs such as “Destino”, “Made in Cali” and “Que rico besarnos”, was reported missing on September 16, allegedly in the Polanco neighborhood, in Mexico City, according to Colombian media.
He was in the country as part of an artistic tour, with DJ Jorge Herrera, also Colombian, known as Regio Clown.
DJ Marcela Reyes, B King's ex-partner, asked her followers for support on social media and also urged the authorities of both countries to intervene to find him alive.
"I hope for Mexico's help in finding these beautiful young people alive who dare to sing of beauty and keep hope in their hearts," Petro concluded in his message.
Investigation continues in Mexico City
So far, the capital's authorities are responsible for the investigation, and have issued the respective search forms for B King and Regio Clown. Official lines of investigation have not yet been confirmed, nor has it been reported if there was subsequent contact with the missing artists.
The case has generated international attention, especially in Colombia, where B King enjoys popularity within the urban music scene. Family and friends continue to demand answers and decisive action.
