The Indian athletic team's hopes of winning a medal in the 4x100m relay at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games have suffered a major setback. Tamil Nadu sprinter S Dhanalakshmi, who made headlines last year by defeating Dutee Chand and Hima Das in the 100 and 200 meters last month, has been caught in dope. 

She has been caught in a test conducted by the Athlete Integrity Unit (AIU) of World Athletics. AIU took Dhanalakshmi's out-of-competition sample from outside the country. Anabolic steroids have been found in his sample. They have been temporarily banned.

The Indian team left for Yugen for the World Championships, but Dhanalakshmi did not. It was told that his visa has not been applied, but the organizers removed his entry from the championship.
