According to family sources and media reports, Sonam is currently in a nursing home in Bangalore. It is being told that both mother and child are healthy. Sonam gave birth to a son at 11:11 am on Wednesday. Interestingly, Sunil has not shared any update on social media.
In fact, this trend has become common among celebrities nowadays. Usually positive news goes viral on social media platforms, but both Sunil and Sonam have so far decided not to share any information about the matter online.
Saheb Bhattacharya, who often shares updates about Sunil and Sonam on social media, is son of famous football legend Subrata Bhattacharya and brother of Sonam. Even Saheb has decided not to post any social media regarding the birth of Sunil and Sonam's son.
Congratulations and best wishes are pouring in for 'Captain-Fantastic' and his wife on this joyous occasion. Earlier it was reported that Sonam might give birth to a child in mid-September. In such a situation, Sunil Chhetri had removed his name from the Indian team for the King's Cup to be held in Thailand.
Indian football team head coach Igor Stimac had accepted the captain's request and did not select him in the national team for their upcoming assignment in the King's Cup. In his absence, Sandesh Jhingan will lead the team. Whereas, Manveer Singh will look after the forwards. However, Sunil Chhetri will be present in the Indian team for the Asian Games in September end.
The four-nation King's Cup tournament will be played in a knockout format. It will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from September 7 to 10. Indian coach Igor Stimac announced a 23-member Indian squad for the 49th season of the tournament.
In the King's Cup, India will play Asian giants Iraq in the first knockout game at the Chiang Mai Stadium in Thailand on September 7. The loser will play the third-place playoff game, while the winner will meet the winner of the second game between Lebanon and hosts Thailand in the final.
