The monitoring committee probing the allegations of sexual harassment against Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been granted two more weeks. The sports ministry has extended the time on the request of the committee. Now the committee will present its investigation report to the ministry on March 9.

Sports Minister Anurag Thakur had on January 23 formed a monitoring committee headed by MC Mary Kom to probe the allegations made by other wrestlers apart from Deepak Punia. In which Commander Rajesh Rajagopalan, Radhika Sriman, Babita Phogat, Yogeshwar Dutt and Trupti Murugunde were included. Sources reveal that the wrestlers have made allegations but have not told the names of the victims to the committee. The committee was also given the responsibility of looking after the day-to-day work of the wrestling association by the ministry. It was supposed to file the inquiry report within four weeks, but requested the ministry to grant it two more weeks, which was granted.

He has not played in any international match. First he did not play in the Zagreb Open, after which he also withdrew from the second international ranking tournament. Not only this, the complaint of the wrestlers has also reached the United World Wrestling (UWW). Due to the non-completion of the investigation and the request to extend the dates of the Asian Wrestling Championship, the hosting of this championship has also been taken away from Delhi.
