The boxer is confident in his abilities to beat the “Gypsy King” and alter the calendar of the highest category.
During an interview with The Ring magazine, the athlete explained how he envisions this scenario compared to the promoters' plans.
“If Tyson Fury and I fight, believe me, I'm going to win and I'm going to change all the plans they had for him to fight Anthony Joshua,” declared the Mexican boxer.
The objective of thwarting the British duel
Andy Ruiz's record supports his warnings, as in the past he managed to dethrone Joshua when the odds were against him. Months after that victory that gave him the unified titles, the Briton recovered his belts through a decision by the judges.
Now, the former monarch seeks to repeat history and force a third meeting with Joshua, but this time beating Fury first. "That is exactly what is going to happen. In the end I will end up doing the trilogy (with Joshua). Those plans are not going to happen," emphasized a confident Ruiz.
Negotiations and a new version in the ring
Andy Ruiz's entourage seeks to accelerate the efforts for his return to official activity after a period of low competitive frequency. The fighter indicated that there are already informal approaches with Tyson Fury's representatives to explore the viability of the fight.
Regarding these talks, the boxer explained to The Ring that the confrontation would represent an unprecedented challenge for the European fighter. "I was just talking to some of his managers and maybe that could happen. He hasn't seen me either. He doesn't even know how I really fight," said the Mexican-American.
This promise from Andy Ruiz keeps fans in expectation of his current physical condition and technical level.
The fighter concluded his speech by assuring that the public will see an improved and different version of his boxing when he finally returns to the ring.
