At 19 years old, Joaquin Moxica scored his first goal with Monterrey. Moxica acknowledged his mother's efforts for him at such a young age.
In Mexican soccer, young players are beginning to have more and more prominence. Gilberto Mora is the main star, but there are other debutants who are beginning to take their first steps in the Liga MX. Joaquin Moxica, at 19 years old, scored his first goal and had a special dedication.
In Matchday 14 of the Liga MX, Rayados de Monterrey defeated Bravos de Juarez 4-2. The scorer of Monterrey's fourth goal was Joaquin Moxica. The young 19-year-old forward took advantage of a ball that fell to him inside the box and shot over Sebastian Jurado's goal.
In this match, Joaquin Moxica received greater confidence from his coaching staff. The 19-year-old forward had already seen action in three previous matches, but in all of them he spent very few minutes on the field. On this occasion, Moxica entered the game in the 69th minute and scored his first goal in professional football in just a few minutes.
“I think it was important to get the three points today, and speaking individually, I'm very happy to score the first goal. Obviously, I've been looking for it and today it happened, thank God,” said the player.
Special dedication
Joaquin Moxica had extra motivation from the stands. His mother had the opportunity to go to the stadium to witness this special moment in Moxica's young career. The forward acknowledged how important his mother has been in helping him achieve this dream.
“It's a very special moment for me. Today my mom was the one who was able to come and it was a reflection of all the support she has given me and I wanted to dedicate it to her. My mom has been one of my greatest supporters throughout this process I've been through and that's why I think she had a feeling that something important could happen today,” he added.
