Mosquera apologizes to Panamanian fans
With a broken voice, Orlando Mosquera sent a message to the fans who accompanied the team during the World Cup.
"An apology to the entire country that believed in this group. We tried everything to bring joy to the country, but unfortunately it was not possible," said the goalkeeper.
The 31-year-old goalkeeper assumed responsibility for the sporting result and thanked the team for the support they received throughout the competition.
The rival's pressure complicated the match
Mosquera explained that one of the factors that marked the development of the match was the intensity with which the rival pressured the ball, a situation that made it difficult for the Panamanian team to function.
"It was difficult for us to get out from behind because of the pressure they exerted, but we tried. It was a group that did not get tired of trying and, unfortunately, we finished the tournament in a bad way," he said.
Despite the difficulties, the goalkeeper highlighted the team's attitude during the 90 minutes and assured that the team never stopped looking for a reaction.
Panama is already thinking about the future
Despite the elimination, the Al-Fayha FC footballer was optimistic about the future of the team and is confident that the process will lead to better results in the upcoming competitions.
"We will continue working. I am sure that victory will come soon, because in life and in football there is always revenge," he concluded.
