Ryan Garcia buries rumors that he hasn't submitted doping tests
American Ryan Garcia posted on his social media that he has been complying with the relevant controls for his upcoming fight
American boxer Ryan Garcia publicly denied reports indicating a supposed lack of doping controls. The athlete clarified his situation ahead of his fight against Mario Barrios for the welterweight world title.
Through his social media, Ryan Garcia called the claims by some media outlets about the absence of testing false. The boxer seeks to clear his name after serving a previous one-year suspension.
Boxer's Direct Response
On his Twitter account, Ryan Garcia wrote: “I wasn't going to talk about this because it's ridiculous, but I've seen some media outlets claiming that VADA hasn't tested me, which is completely false.”
The fighter also emphasized his commitment to cleanliness in the sport. “I've been tested throughout this camp, and I'm sure Mario Barrios has been as well,” Ryan Garcia added in his official statement.
Legal Warnings and Official Support
To stop the defamation, Ryan Garcia warned of legal consequences. “Anyone who claims these things will face legal action,” the athlete stated on the same digital platform.
For his part, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman confirmed the validity of the processes. “To be clear, the WBC required Ryan and Mario to undergo VADA testing to approve the fight,” the official posted.
Confirmed Negative Results
Sulaiman confirmed that both boxers comply with the protocols established by the organization. According to the official, both fighters have submitted samples with negative results to date.
With these statements, Ryan Garcia hopes to focus attention on his fight on February 21. The boxer showed a VADA notification registering a negative test performed on January 11.
