Santiago Gimenez has had a slow start to the season. AC Milan have not been able to count on their goals to support them. However, Massimiliano Allegri still has faith in the Mexican striker.

The former Cruz Azul player has played 10 games so far this season. "El Bebote" has played eight Serie A matches and one Coppa Italia match. Gimenez's only goal came in the cup. In 565 minutes on the pitch, "Santi" hasn't scored in the league.

Despite this slow start and these poor numbers, Massimiliano Allegri sees other facets of the Mexican's game in which he is contributing. Physical effort and dirty play have contributed to AC Milan's success. But Allegri also expects the goals to come.

“For a striker, it's easy to break the deadlock; everything can change in an instant. For me, he's doing well and helping the team. A player is either good or not, and one game doesn't change your opinion. Santi is good, he's always scored goals, and he'll score them for Milan too,” said the Italian manager.

Replacements for Santiago Gimenez

According to a report by Sport Mediaset journalist Claudio Raimondi, AC Milan is exploring alternatives in its attack for the winter transfer market. The Rossoneri need the Mexican striker to wake up and be able to contribute goals to the club's account.

"Santiago Gimenez has two months to redeem himself. AC Milan is already exploring alternatives up front for January. Either Gimenez wakes up... or his time at Milan could end prematurely," the report says.

Performance in the Netherlands

Before signing for AC Milan, Santiago Gimenez had played half a season with Feyenoord in the 2024/2025 season. The Mexican striker's numbers were far superior to his current performance. "El Bebote" scored 16 goals and provided 3 assists in 19 games with his club. This performance is a far cry from his new stage with the Rossoneri.
