In that space, the executive director of Golden Boy Promotions, Óscar de la Hoya, was consulted about his company's priorities and the status of conversations with the boxer's work team.

The rift between the boxer and the promoter seems to have entered a resolution phase after weeks of bilateral negotiations. According to reports shared by DAZN reporter, Chris Mannix, the president of the promotion, Eric Gomez, and the fighter's representative, Rick Mirigian, have structured the bases for a contract extension that guarantees the athlete's financial stability.

When asked about the status of these conversations, the Golden Boy promoter valued Vergil Ortiz Jr.'s career and confirmed his team's willingness to formalize the agreement. "Vergil Ortiz is one of the best there is, I hate not seeing him fight, so I want to resolve this? Absolutely, one hundred percent. Did they or us make a mistake? No. There was a misunderstanding, everything is fine, Eric is talking to Rick and we are making this happen," declared Oscar De La Hoya.

The resolution of this administrative conflict clears the way for planning the boxer's sporting agenda in the short term.

The commissioners and promoters hope to finalize a presentation date before the end of the year, maintaining the continuity of a trajectory that has an undefeated history of 24 victories without losses.

The representative of the promoting company emphasized that the historical link with the athlete has facilitated the technical approach over the external offers that were presented on the market. "I feel very comfortable, we have our agreement closed, people from the outside try to complicate things, but we have the contracts, the relationships... we have had Vergil since he was a baby, we feel that we are very close and Vergil will fight this year," the manager detailed during the official broadcast of the boxing event to confirm the return of Vergil Ortiz Jr. to the official cards.
