In the case of Google Maps, it was designed for drivers, but also for those who walk, cycle or use public transport, it offers maps, routes, business information, bus and train schedules and indoor maps of places such as shopping centers or airports.

Waze, on the other hand, is a more community-oriented version, focusing solely on the driving experience. What sets this app apart from Google Maps is the collaboration between users, who report accidents, traffic jams, checkpoints, and other events affecting traffic in real time, which the app uses to adjust routes immediately.

Google Maps combines historical information, sensors, and some user reports, offering more stable and predictable routes. The app may not react quickly to unexpected events on the road, but it strikes a balance between speed and clarity in navigation.

Near-instant traffic data updates are the cornerstone of Waze, making it ideal for those traveling in cities with changing traffic and looking to save every minute. However, suggested detours can be aggressive or unconventional.

Waze becomes a powerful ally for experienced drivers looking to optimize their journeys, with quick alternative routes, customizable voice commands, and constant alerts about potential incidents along the way. Less experienced drivers, or those who prefer predictable routes with clear signage, may prefer Google Maps.
