Leak revealed which are the Mac models that will arrive in 2026
We already know which laptop and desktop models Apple plans to introduce during the course of the next year
Over the last few days, a spectacular leak has shaken the Apple world: 15 new Mac models are in development to be launched between 2025 and 2026, according to internal identifiers revealed through AppleInsider, collected by 9to5Mac. Among the most exciting things are the upcoming Macs with M5 chips this year, and the long-awaited M6 models by the end of 2026.
For 2025, the Californian firm already has almost everything lined up: including 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro variants with M5 Max and M5 Pro chips, the long-awaited iMac with M5, a Mac mini with M5 Pro, and what could be a refreshed Mac Pro. If that weren’t enough, a new Mac Studio lineup with Pro and Ultra versions is also expected.
Apple’s releases in 2026
The roadmap continues to focus on portability: Apple plans to release two new MacBook Airs (13-inch and 15-inch) with M5 chip in early 2026, along with new variants of the Mac Studio (M5 Max and Ultra). In addition, the leak points to a mysterious model called J700, which is apparently the new MacBook with the A18 Pro chip (the same as the iPhone 16 Pro), something that will bring back iPhone processors to the Mac world.
This MacBook with A18 Pro promises to be interesting: not only could it equip a powerful and efficient processor like in the iPhone, but also have colorful features and a more economical design —remember those colorful iBooks? We could be facing a similar move, positioning it as the “most affordable” option without sacrificing performance.
New M6 processor
And it doesn’t end there: by the end of 2026, Apple is working on a new generation of the MacBook Pro (identifiers K114 and K116) with M6 Max and M6 Pro chips, both in 14″ and 16″ versions. The most striking thing is that this model would come with an exterior redesign, OLED screens, and possibly integrated cellular connection, maintaining the size but elevating the experience.
This new design would not only be aesthetic: the jump to OLED promises deeper blacks, greater contrast and energy efficiency, while the cellular modem would integrate mobile connectivity without depending on the iPhone.Ideal for those who need to work from anywhere without Wi-Fi.
This leaked roadmap outlines a clear strategy: Apple is pushing an increasingly diverse Mac ecosystem, covering everything from entry-level users to professionals, and focusing on variety in price, size, and style:
On the other hand, it's curious how Apple maintains certain sizes: the MacBook Pro remains at 14" and 16", even with the M6, and the MacBook Air remains at the classic 13" and 15". It seems the company has found the ideal formula, although it will tinker with the finishes and display technologies.
What does this mean for Apple users and fans?
First, if you were thinking about buying a Mac this year, keep in mind that the arrival of the M5 chip and the announcement of more models are approaching, so it may be worth waiting a few weeks to see if there are offers or new versions.
Second, the rumored MacBook with A18 Pro opens a new path: adjusted price, good performance, and casual design. It can attract the educational, student, or creative market looking for style and functionality.
Third, the jump to the M6 ??with OLED and cellular connectivity sounds like a portable revolution. It's not just more power, but a MacBook Pro designed for the most demanding digital nomads.
