Under pressure, Trump orders the disclosure of testimony from the jury that formally accused Epstein
This new position by Trump comes after The Wall Street Journal published a birthday letter to Epstein signed by the president.
Five years after the death of financial magnate Jeffrey Epstein, accused of sexual trafficking of minors and after the Department of Justice concluded that he died of suicide and there is no client list , the criticism of Donald Trump did not stop.
Therefore, Trump announced this Thursday that he ordered the Attorney General of the United States, Pam Bondi, to release the testimony of the grand jury that formally indicted the magnate Jeffrey Epstein.
“Based on the ridiculous amount of publicity given to Jeffrey Epstein, I have directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce each and every one of the pertinent grand jury testimonies, subject to the approval of the court. This SCAM, perpetuated by the Democrats, must end, right now! ” the president wrote on his Truth Social network.
Trump's order to Bondi comes when the Jeffrey Epstein scandal resurfaces in the US, after the FBI and the Department of Justice (DOJ) concluded in an investigation that the tycoon did not have a "list of famous clients" whom he blackmailed.
The FBI and the DOJ also confirmed Epstein's death by suicide, thus refuting the conspiracy theory that he had been murdered to protect his acquaintances, and anticipated that they would not publish further investigations into the case.
The most staunch supporters of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement were dissatisfied with the findings of said investigation, since Trump, Bondi and the deputy director of the FBI, Dan Bongino, promised before the start of this Administration to reveal "the truth" about the case.
Trump had promised during his campaign to publish the aforementioned "client list," an alleged agenda of Epstein's accomplices that includes celebrities and influential politicians, and which has been the focus of numerous conspiracy theories in far-right circles for years, which now feels betrayed.
The case was also closed by the prosecutor's office and the FBI after billionaire Elon Musk denounced, without evidence and after leaving the Government, that Trump appears on that alleged list.
Just this Thursday, The Wall Street Journal published the contents of an alleged letter written by Trump to Epstein that allegedly contained several lines of typed text framed by the outline of a naked woman that the Republican had allegedly drawn.
According to the newspaper, Trump concluded the letter with the phrase: "Happy birthday, and may each day be another wonderful secret."
Moments after the publication of this article, Trump announced that he will sue The Wall Street Journal, News Corp - the conglomerate that includes the newspaper - and its owner, Rupert Murdoch, for disclosing the contents of the letter.
